Connect with Leading-Edge Research

Our event will kick off with a focus on the latest graphene research. Keynote speaker Philip Kim will share his insights on graphene and related materials for opto-electronics. Philip Kim is a world leading scientist in the area of materials research at Harvard University. His research area is experimental condensed matter physics with an emphasis on physical properties and applications of nanoscale low-dimensional materials. The use of modern state-of-the-art semiconductor device fabrication techniques and the development of new methods of material synthesis/manipulation are essential parts of this research. Subsequent talks will cover everything from graphene fundamental research to biomedical technologies as well as an update on the progress of the Graphene Flagship COVID Working Group.

Innovation and the Successful Commercialisation of Graphene

Following a Keynote presention by Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov who, along with Andre Geim, isolated graphene in 2004, the second day of our event will focus on graphene innovation and the road to commercialisation. Talks will range from discussions on the Graphene Flagship tools and services enabling graphene commercialisation to a focus on applications. Hear about our latest success stories and learn about the Graphene Flagship's spearhead projects and business developers.

Collaboration: Explore the Newest Trends

The final keynote talk presents Valeria Nicolosi, head of the Characterisation and Processing of Advanced Materials group at Trinity College Dublin, who researches the use of novel 2D materials for the development of more efficient energy storage devices.

Thursday's programme will focus on the collaborations that drive the Graphene Flagship. From updates from our international workshop chairs to talks on sustainability and the project's diversity initiatives that support inclusion and socially responsible research and innovation, the programme will inspire us to push our research and community to new heights.
