“Graphene Connect aims to foster collaborative innovation projects within and outside of the Graphene Flagship consortium. The interplay between research and industry is needed in order to find the right hot spots for innovations and direct research efforts towards the most commercially promising applications.”
Dr Kari Hjelt, Head of Innovation, Graphene Flagship
The Graphene Flagship forms a coordinated European graphene research platform, with two main core activities: to connect the leading national initiatives in Europe and crosslink European research excellences; and to build a pathway for the newly accumulated strategic knowledge to impact European industries and society.
Graphene Connect is a series of industry workshops, aiming to create new innovation projects between academia and industry. The ultimate outcome of the workshops is to plan for actions realising collaborative innovation projects within and outside of the Flagship consortium. The programme includes:
- Popular presentation on state-of-the art research by the work package leaders
- Industry perspectives by three industry representatives
- Group discussions and matchmaking: Building on the presentations, there will be moderated group discussions with the possibility of representatives across industry sectors to interact with each other as well as with researchers, with the ultimate goal of initiating future collaborative innovation projects within the flagship frame. Grouping and matchmaking will be made from a questionnaire in advance.
