Graphene Session

A graphene session will be held on Thursday, 25 February, at the Mobile Wold Congress 2016, featuring five experts who will showcase the latest advances in graphene based mobile technology.

The Future of Mobile – Empowered by Graphene

As the mobile industry strives to introduce new innovative technologies, graphene can have a profound impact on many of the building block components – from flexible wearables, supercapacitor based batteries, electronic skin tattoos, to next generation data communications.

The session includes visionary talks by key industry and research leaders, showcasing the latest achievements in graphene research and development. It is chaired by Prof Frank Koppens, ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, and organised by the Graphene Flagship.

Date: Thursday, 25 February, 2016.
Time: 12:15 – 13:15.
Hall: Hall 4.

Speakers

Prof. Frank Koppens, ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, ES

Dr. Tapani Ryhänen, Head of Business Line, Nokia, FI

Dr. Vittorio Pellegrini, Director of Graphene Labs, Italian Institute of Technology, IT

Dr. Chung-Ping, CEO and Founder, Bluestone Global Tech, UK

Dr. Mike Banach, Technical Director, FlexEnable, UK

A single layer of carbon atoms

In simple terms, graphene is a two-dimensional atomic crystal made up of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice. Due to its unique combination of superior properties, graphene is a credible starting point for new disruptive technologies across a wide range of fields.
