Graphene Week "is a vibrant event with an excellent programme, speakers from all over the world, and representatives from a wide community, including industry," says Amalia Patane of the University of Nottingham. "I look forward to learning more about science and technology in a beautiful Spanish location!"
"I will report on a new class of two-dimensional materials, the 'post-transition' metal chalcogenides (e.g. InSe) that have potential to make a step-change in both science and technology," she says. "I am very excited about the electronic properties of these systems, which are unprecedented and unique down to single layers of atoms. These will enable significant progress towards miniaturization, diversification and much-improved capabilities compared to traditional semiconductor materials, all important for innovation across several disciplines and technologies."
