Arben Merkoçi of the Institut Català de Nanotecnologia (ICN) in Spain has confirmed that he will present at this year's Graphene Week conference to be held in San Sebastian, Spain, on 10-14 September 2018.
"I am looking forward to meeting great scientists working in various aspects of 2D materials and finding new collaboration and synergies for building new biosensors with applications for cancer diagnostics, safety and security and other applications," Merkoçi says.
"My group at ICN2 in Barcelona is trying hard to get insight on the role of graphene and 2D materials in biosensors. Through my presentation, I will show what the advantages of 2D materials in the design and fabrication of biosensors are with regard to diagnostics. Our main focus is to develop cost efficient devices using various graphene building blocks from graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide or quantum dots. Each of these building blocks may give new signal transduction opportunities while making biosensing simple."
