By connecting fundamental and technological graphene expertises, the previous energy application activities enabled to develop new graphene-integrating nanocomposite materials for advanced energy device electrodes, for instance, as well as smartly functionalized optoelectronic layers able to enhance conversion efficiencies of photovoltaics cells.
On the basis of these proofs of concept
and by taking advantage of the novel technological routes developed so far, the
Work Package Energy Generation intents to achieve more performing solar and
fuel cells large scale demonstrators. Main objective is to bring this graphene
and 2D-material integrating technologies to a higher technology readiness level
and to design the future energy conversion devices. For that purpose material
as well as modelling experts will collaborate in close connection with industrial
partners of the field.
Work Package Leader: Dr Gerard Gebel, CEA French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, France.
Work Package Deputy: Dr Emmanuel Kymakis, Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece.
