Connect. Collaborate. Create the Future of 2D Materials Innovation. Graphene Week Matchmaking Event
Join the Graphene Week 2026 European Funding Matchmaking Event in Porto, Portugal on 23 September. This event is created to be a dedicated networking arena within Graphene Week 2026, where academia and industry come together to spark new collaborations, exchange ideas and shape the next generation of graphene and 2D materials innovation.
Whether you are a researcher, company representative, innovation leader, startup or technology developer, this event offers a unique opportunity to meet potential partners from across the Graphene Flagship community and explore opportunities for future European research and innovation projects, including upcoming Horizon Europe calls. Through targeted networking, pitching and collaborative discussions, participants can identify complementary expertise, build strong consortia and turn emerging ideas into impactful projects.
The matchmaking event is open to all and welcomes those interested in strengthening connections between science, technology and industry. Let’s build the next wave of graphene and 2D materials innovation, together in Porto!
How does it work?
This quick-fire networking session is organised into 6 topics. During the session, attendees are invited to connect with relevant stakeholders and explore the different calls and topics available. Attendees are encouraged to send in short “pitches” ahead of time to promote specific calls, projects or expertise. These pitches will be collected below, divided into topics. During Graphene Week 2026, information about the topics can be found in the conference app.
How to register
Graphene Week delegates are encouraged to pre-register for this event to facilitate the networking aspect. External attendees (i.e., those not attending the conference) must register. External attendees to the matchmaking session only receive a special Matchmaking pass which affords entry to the session and the Graphene Week exhibition only. Lunch is provided and registration is free. Matchmaking passes do not allow access to the scientific programme. If you would like to attend the full Graphene Week conference, find out more about registration here.
