Partnering with the Graphene Flagship

The partnering mechanism within the Graphene Flagship allows the project to add new knowledge, competencies, ideas and resources throughout the project.

Why partner with the Graphene Flagship?

Being an Associated Member (AM) or a Partnering Project (PP) promotes collaboration within the Graphene Flagship and offers opportunities to engage with Core Project partners in joint research and innovation activities in areas of mutual interest.

Advantages Of Partnership

How to partner with the Graphene Flagship?

Candidate PPs and AMs may be identified by:

  • Graphene Flagship CP members
  • European Commission (EC)
  • National and regional funding agencies

In addition, members of the science and technology community may also wish to apply to become a PP or an AM on their own. Organisations that are candidates for becoming an Associated Member without being part of a specific project (individual AMs) have to be nominated by a member of the Executive Board or by a Core Project Work Package Leader.

Since no additional funding is available for Partnering Projects from the Graphene Flagship Core Project budget, PPs and their AMs will have to demonstrate that they:

  • Already have their own funding for research and innovation activities
  • Significantly contribute to the Graphene Flagship’s technology and innovation roadmap and overall mission

Candidates are selected based on their level of complementarity and added expertise with respect to the existing competencies and future needs of the Graphene Flagship. Learn more

Applications for becoming a PP and AM are submitted to the Graphene Flagship Partnering Liaison Manager through the dedicated email [graphene-eu@esf.org]. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and there is no submission deadline. Applications are approved by the Management Panel

Partnering Projects

Collaborations with Partnering Projects bring new research directions and expertise into the Graphene Flagship. A Partnering Project (PP) is a research or innovation project whose objectives are relevant to the Graphene Flagship. PPs contribute to the implementation of the Graphene Flagship Roadmap or bring in new research directions and expertise, by performing research, innovation and networking activities in cooperation with members of the Graphene Flagship Core Project.

Associated Members

Collaborations with industry are important to push graphene applications to higher technology readiness levels and ensure and market transfer. Industrial Associated Members (AMs) currently represent 40% of the organisations associated to the Graphene Flagship, either individually or via a Partnering Project. AMs are mainly interested in market applications and, together with the Core Project industrial partners, play an important role in pushing research to higher TRL and bringing graphene-based products to the market.

For Current AMs and PPs

This information is useful for organisations that are already associate members or partnering projects. If you are not yet associated to the Graphene Flagship and are interested in getting involved in the project, please see the association procedure above.
