Agenda

Organisers

GRAPHERGIA aims to revolutionise energy harvesting and storage through graphene-based technologies. Key innovations include laser-assisted graphene production for self-charging textiles, integration of energy features into wearables, improved Li-ion batteries, and sustainable power for IoT devices. A novel laser-assisted method enables simultaneous morphological modification and carbon activation of graphite anodes, aligning with the Safe and Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) approach. This process enhances surface area, porosity, conductivity, and ion transport, leading to improved electrochemical performance.

SAFARI expands 2D materials research, focusing on safe-by-design MXenes manufacturing and hybrid MXene-Graphene formulations. These materials offer thermal stability and conductivity for applications like biosensors, conductive inks, and EMI shielding. The project emphasises sustainable processes, innovative applications, collaboration, scalable production, enhanced material performance, and knowledge dissemination—advancing Europe's leadership in 2D materials.
