Business Developer and Head of Sustainability at HyCarb
António Vilanova is an Environmental Engineer specialised in renewable fuels, advanced materials and sustainability. He holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering (2014) and a PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering (2021) from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). He currently works as Business Developer and Head of Sustainability at HyCarb, a Portuguese deep-tech spin-off from the University of Porto, founded in 2024. HyCarb develops plug-and-play, containerized and modular units based on its proprietary Intermediate Temperature Catalytic Methane Splitting (IT-CMS) technology, which converts methane - sourced from natural gas, biogas, landfill gas, or biomethane - into clean hydrogen and high-value graphitic carbon, without direct CO2 emissions.
Graphenest is a technology provider of graphene based EMI shielding solutions for the automotive, electronics, and aerospace markets. Graphenest offers metal free conductive plastics and coatings products that provide high RF/EMI/EMC Shielding performance while reducing production costs and weight.
