2D Pilot line: hands-on design training
Hands-on training on IC design of graphene-based devices using KLayout and Cadence tools
This two-day, in-person training is offered by the 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL) project. Expert trainers from project partners will deliver IC design skills to enable access to multi-project wafer runs for all attendees – creating the opportunity to become a 2D-PL customer and “share the mask to share the price”. The event will start with a session of introductory seminars, diving into the framework of the 2D-PL in the EU semiconductor ecosystem and showcasing the technologies offered to potential users. The trainings will involve hands-on practice on Cadence and KLayout with four Project Design Kits (PDKs) for graphene-based devices (Graphene FET – GFET, graphene-based Photonic Integrated Circuits – PICs, graphene-based Biosensors) manufactured by four 2D-PL consortium members – VTT (Finland), IHP (Germany), Graphenea (Spain), AMO (Germany).
The event will include an oral session as a kick-off of the event and three hands-on trainings. All the attendees can join the Graphenea/AMO joint hands-on training run on the first day.
On day two: attendees can choose between two training courses, running in parallel during the second day: one classroom training will address GFET design with CMOS read-out circuits (performed with imec-provided laptops) hosted by VTT, the second on graphene-based PICs is hosted by IHP (attendees must bring theirpersonal laptops). The final goal of the event is to guarantee attendees’ success in IC design to join multi-project wafer (MPW) runs.
