EU-Brazil international workshop
This year the Graphene Flagship will host the 1st EU-Brazil workshop, marking the beginning of an exchange with Brazilian researchers and experts in 2DM. The workshop will take place on 22 September 2026 during Graphene Week 2026.
This international workshop aims to bring together leading scientists, experts and innovators from Brazil and Europe to explore shared priorities and opportunities in the field of graphene and related 2D materials (2DM), to catalyse new partnerships, encourage knowledge exchange, and lay the groundwork for impactful, long-term cooperation in graphene and 2D materials research and innovation.
The workshop aims to strengthen ties between the EU and Brazilian 2DM communities by showcasing Brazil’s core research and innovation activities, facilitating mutual understanding of the respective R&I ecosystems, and identifying concrete avenues for collaboration. It will also highlight funding mechanisms supporting EU–Brazil cooperation, including mobility schemes and joint research opportunities.
Structured in two complementary sessions, the workshop programme will feature a public segment open for all Graphene Week 2026 participants to attend, with keynote introductions and presentations from leading Brazilian researchers. This will be followed by a closed session bringing together the EU and Brazilian selected representatives from academia and industry, to discuss R&I common strategic priorities, challenges and relevant funding landscapes. It will also feature a dynamic roundtable to outline strategic opportunities and potential pathways for sustained collaboration.
The closed session is open to Graphene Flagship members only (RIA/IA project partners, Associated Members and Partnering Projects) and exclusively upon registration at the following link. Only 30 places are available on a first-come first-served basis.
