Fernando Gomollon-Bel is the Graphene Flagship Press Coordinator. He deals with press releases, media relations, and some of the Graphene Flagship's website and social media content. Fernando was originally trained as a chemist, but long-term exposure to toxic solvents somehow turned him into a science communicator with experience in Public Relations, radio, magazines, and TV. He loves LEGO, Netflix, cooking, and going for an occasional run around Cambridge. But science is his true passion, even his two cats have sciency names – Gaia and Lynn.
Tom Foley is the Graphene Flagship Science Writer. He writes news releases and features to highlight exciting research enabled by the Graphene Flagship, and regularly travels around Europe to meet and interview scientists at partner institutions. After graduating with a chemistry degree from Edinburgh and Singapore, he started his career in scientific publishing and found his love for writing. Outside of work, he loves photography, dogs, science fiction and fantasy, video games, and travelling. He once hitch-hiked from Scotland to Morocco in a week, and his life’s goal is to explore as much of the world as possible.

Sofia Järbur is the Graphene Flagship Marketing Coordinator. She creates the marketing strategy, works with customer relationship management and plans industry outreach events like exhibitions, where the latest graphene products and prototypes are displayed. She thinks marketing should be about creating experiences, and that is something she loves doing. Ever wondered why stressed spelled backwards is desserts? Sofia likes to think it is because the best way to de-stress is by baking (and eating!). She also enjoys reading, hiking and kayaking during the two weeks of summer in Sweden.
Melanie Lawson is the Graphene Flagship Digital Media Coordinator. Her responsibilities cover the Graphene Flagship website, design of digital and print materials, social media content, and brand identity. Exiled from the UK for her controversial dislike of tea, Melanie now resides on the Swedish west coast. Away from the office, she enjoys baking, escape games, and spending time with her cats, Simba and Cleo.
