European Commission visits Graphene Pavilion at MWC19
Director General of DG CONNECT at the European Commission, Roberto Viola, visited the Graphene Pavilion at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 this morning. In a meeting with the director of the Graphene Flagship, Jari Kinaret, he discovered the ways in which graphene will enable better connectivity.
The Graphene Pavilion is organised by the Graphene Flagship, one of Europe’s largest ever research initiatives – the FET Flagships. During MWC 2019, the Graphene Pavilion will demonstrate over 20 graphene devices, prototypes, and commercial products which have been developed by Graphene Flagship partners.
Within the Graphene Pavilion at MWC19, visitors can explore four different zones focused on the ‘phone of the future’, ‘wearables of the future’, ‘home of the future’, and graphene mass production - an area that focuses on the uses of graphene in industry.
Combining interactive demonstrations and working prototypes, the different areas of the Graphene Pavilion at MWC provide an opportunity to see the latest technologies that are transforming communication.
Jari Kinaret, director of the Graphene Flagship, said: “It was a pleasure to show Director General Roberto Viola around our Graphene Pavilion, where he witnessed how far the Graphene Flagship has come, and the brilliant future we envisage.”
“It’s so fascinating. Graphene is really transforming our lives and for the better,” said Roberto Viola, Director General of DG CONNECT at the European Commission. “This is really the future we want to live,” he concluded.
