Turn Wonder into Action – Graphene Week 2023

This Graphene Week, we are focusing on the applications and impact of graphene

The discovery of graphene filled the scientific community with excitement. Here was a material that was incredibly thin, strong, flexible, and conductive. Its potential and real applications are numerous – and many more are still to be developed. Graphene’s promise was – and is – so great that many still refer to it with its nickname from those early days: the ‘wonder material’.

In the Graphene Flagship, we are clear-eyed about graphene: excited about its applications and potential, and also open to acknowledging and seeking to address its challenges and limitations. With this mindset underpinning our work, we are committed not just to celebrating graphene, but also to figuring out how best to use it.

For this reason, our Graphene Flagship slogan for 2023, and specifically for Graphene Week 2023, is ‘Turn Wonder into Action’ – and we want you to join us in our efforts to bring this slogan to life.

Here are some ways you can turn your wonder for graphene into action in 2023, and specifically in relation to our biggest event, Graphene Week 2023.

  1. Join us at Graphene Week!

Graphene Week 2023 promises to be an exciting event, with guest speakers and experts in graphene travelling from all over the world to attend. There will even be a Nobel Laureate or two… Come along for cutting-edge graphene research, technological advancement, diversity initiatives, world-class innovation and opportunities to connect with the top international graphene and 2D material experts and innovators. This is an event not to be missed!

Join us in Gothenburg, Sweden, September 4th-8th. Sign up here! Graphene Week 2023 | Graphene Flagship (graphene-flagship.eu)

  1. Submit your abstracts to Graphene Week!

For all you researchers – be sure to send us your abstracts to avoid missing out on the chance to give an oral presentation or poster presentation at Graphene Week 2023! Presenting at Graphene Week is an opportunity to gain great exposure for your work and to network with academic collaborators and industry leaders.

We are now accepting abstract submissions on:

  • Fundamentals
  • Sustainable uses of graphene
  • Applications
  • Production processes
  • Graphene Flagship 10 years and beyond
  • Other related topics

Click here to review the abstract guidelines and click here to submit your abstract.

  1. Apply for a student grant to Graphene Week!

Students attending Graphene Week 2023 and submitting an abstract (as first or second authors) may apply for student grants from the Graphene Flagship.

Eligible students may apply to receive a 300 Euro discount of the delegates’ fee. Only early-bird and normal applications will be considered for the Graphene Week 2023 grant.
Review the Student Grants Guidelines here and submit your student grant application here.

Here at the Graphene Flagship, we are proud of the work our researchers have achieved, the industry partnerships we have created, and the various pioneering applications for graphene that we have discovered. And the Graphene Week 2023 will be the place to see all of this.

We are committed to turning wonder into action. How about you?
