Graphene Week 2024 highlights for students

The Graphene Flagship is committed to developing the next generation of graphene and 2D materials experts. At Graphene Week 2024, students can share their work in poster sessions, receive one-on-one career coaching, attend a diversity session on wellness in the lab and workplace, and chat with successful entrepreneurs who created start-ups in the Graphene Flagship ecosystem.

Diversity in Graphene

Equity, Inclusion and Diversity (EID) is not just a catch phrase, having a diverse and inclusive work environment encourages creativity, collaboration and effectiveness. This session explores the importance of diversity in research institutions and the benefits and challenges associated with creating an inclusive environment. Speakers will explore their experiences and an open discussion on challenges faced and mechanisms for creating inclusive environments will be encouraged. Join us for a networking dessert after lunch before the session kicks off.

Open Forum

This year we celebrate 20 years since the isolation of graphene. The Open Forum will look at the progress made in graphene research and commercialisation, the Graphene Flagship's role in this work, and our expectations for the future. The European Commission, through the Graphene Flagship, has played a crucial role in supporting the development of graphene and other 2D material applications, the launch of spinoff companies and the advance in our knowledge of nanomaterials and their uses. With the current Graphene Flagship projects, we are excited to keep building toward a new future for 2D materials integration and commercialisation.
