Building community. Driving innovation. Shaping the future. Graphene Week has done it for two decades—and Porto 2026 continues the legacy.
The 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL) is bringing graphene-based photonics closer to industrial adoption. By integrating graphene with established silicon photonics platforms and developing processes in fab-relevant environments, the 2D-PL enables industry and researchers to explore new approaches to high-speed, tunable and compact photonic devices—at wafer scale. Come learn about the project's latest offerings at ECOC, to beheld in Malaga, Spain, on 20-24 September 2026.
The 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL) will exhibit at ESSERC to be held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on 7-10 September 2026. Drop by our booth to learn about the project's latest offerings from "Hands-on PDK training on IC design and simulation of 2D materials-based photonic devices" to multi-project wafer runs and our all new PDK offerings.
AMO GmbH, the Aachen Graphene & 2D Materials Center, and RWTH Aachen University will continue their successful series of events dedicated to 2D materials. This year's workshop on “2D Materials for Future Electronics” will take place in person on March 3–4, 2026, in Aachen, Germany, bringing together leading researchers and industry experts to explore the latest advances and future opportunities for electronic applications. The workshop will feature a special hybrid session in collaboration with 2D-PL, which will be live-streamed from 16:50-18:05 on 3 March 2026, allowing remote participants to actively interact with speakers and the in-person audience.
As AI and generative AI tools rapidly enter the world of academia, understanding how to use them effectively has become essential. This digital workshop offers an introduction to the benefits and challenges of integrating AI into research workflows. Aimed at students and early-career researchers, the session will highlight applications in publishing, communication, productivity, and responsible research practices.
Speakers from the Institute of Physics Publishing, The Science Talk, CeADAR and the Graphene Flagship will share practical guidance and reflections.

Supported by the European Commission, Graphene Week stands at the forefront of cutting-edge research, innovation, and technology. As Europe's leading and longest-running graphene conference, it unites over 500 international experts and students to discuss key topics concerning graphene and 2D materials.
The 20th edition of Graphene Week will be held in Vicenza, Italy, 22-26 September 2025!
This two-day, in-person training is offered by the 2D Pilot Line (2D-PL) project. Expert trainers from project partners will deliver IC design skills to enable access to multi-project wafer runs for all attendees – creating the opportunity to become a 2D-PL customer and “share the mask to share the price”. The event will start with a session of introductory seminars, diving into the framework of the 2D-PL in the EU semiconductor ecosystem and showcasing the technologies offered to potential users. The trainings will involve hands-on practice on Cadence and KLayout with four Project Design Kits (PDKs) for graphene-based devices (Graphene FET – GFET, graphene-based Photonic Integrated Circuits – PICs, graphene-based Biosensors) manufactured by four 2D-PL consortium members – VTT (Finland), IHP (Germany), Graphenea (Spain), AMO (Germany).
This collaborative workshop is organised to foster knowledge exchange between EU and Egyptian researchers, industry representatives, and academia, focusing on the dissemination of key research outcomes from three EU-funded projects: SALIENT, GIANCE, and BIOntier. Each project offers innovative advancements across critical sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and water treatment, enhancing sustainability, circularity, and multifunctionality of materials and structures. Participants will engage through structured technical presentations, interactive workshops, hands-on training sessions, and dedicated networking activities. The goal is to leverage EU research excellence, build local capacity, and initiate new collaborative partnerships, ultimately contributing towards sustainable and resilient economic growth in Egypt and the broader MENA region.
Join us for the online workshop "Pioneering 2D Materials for Biosensors," where experts in the community will share how graphene and 2D materials are revolutionizing biosensor technologies for diagnostics and monitoring therapy.
The ability to solution-process and print nanomaterials has enabled huge advances in their characterisation and application in energy generation and storage, optoelectronics and composites. While the recent focus has been on 2D materials, there remains considerable interest in the solution-processing of 1D nanotubes and nanowires as well as 0D nanoparticles.
The 9th EU-Korea Workshop on Graphene and 2D Materials will be held on 26 May 2026 in Strasbourg (France). This bilateral workshop follows up on the long-established collaboration between the Graphene Flagship and the Korean Graphene Society. Hosted by 2D PRINTABLE, the main aim of the meeting will be the discussion and exchange of ideas and best practices on current and emerging topics associated with the 2D materials synthesis and production, multi-scale studies of their physical and chemical properties, as well as application development and commercialisation for graphene and related 2D materials in (opto)electronics, energy and composites.
