The Graphene Flagship celebrates a decade of 2D materials innovation
Funded by the European Commission in 2013, the Graphene Flagship has brought graphene innovation out of the lab and into commercial applications. Bringing diverse competencies from nearly 170 academic and industrial partners in 22 countries together, the Graphene Flagship facilitates cooperation between its partners, accelerating the timeline for industry acceptance of graphene technologies. With applications in everything from energy and transportation to electronics and biomedicine, graphene and other 2D materials are changing the way we live and work. The European Commission’s FET Flagships enable research projects on an unprecedented scale. With €1 billion budgets, the Graphene Flagship, Human Brain Project and Quantum Flagship serve as technology accelerators, helping Europe to compete with other global markets in research and innovation. With an additional €20 million investment, the European Commission has now funded the creation of an experimental pilot line for graphene-based electronics, optoelectronics and sensors.
FLAG-ERA launches fifth call for transnational projects
FLAG-ERA has launched its fifth call for transnational projects in synergy with the Graphene Flagship and Human Brain Project – EBRAINS. An information webinar about the call will be organised on March 16, 2021.
How can we scale up graphene? Graphene Flagship scientists develop new approach optimising graphene growth and transfer.
This new approach, developed by scientists from the University of Cambridge and RWTH Aachen University, could mark a real breakthrough for the industrialisation of graphene.
Meet the Graphene Flagship's Ethics Advisory Board
The Graphene Flagship Ethics Advisory Board helps to review project proposals for ethical pitfalls and serves as an advisory body for partners with questions about best practice, safe by design products and research initiatives and other ethical quandaries.
Graphene Week 2023
Singapore-EU Workshop 2023
This first Singapore - EU Graphene Flagship workshop, co-organised by the EU Graphene Flagship and the Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM) at the National University of Singapore, aims to present the ongoing research activities on both sides and discuss possible international collaborations.
Australia-EU Workshop 2023
The 3rd Australia-EU Workshop on Graphene and Related Materials will be held on 30-31 March 2023 in Melbourne, Australia. By bringing together leading researchers from Europe and Australia, this workshop aims at being an open forum to discuss cutting-edge research in the field and foster scientific exchanges, practices and ideas related to the current and emerging topics associated with graphene and 2D materials. Several topics will be discussed, from application and commercialization to new fundamental concepts, synthesis, composites, membranes, biomaterials, electronics, sensors, composites, coatings and energy devices.
Graphene Study 2023
The Graphene Flagship hosts Graphene Study to help PhD students and early career researchers develop into outstanding researchers in graphene. This edition will explore 2D materials for tomorrow. What is next? What can we expect from graphene science and applications in the future? View the full agenda below.
Diversity in Graphene Career Day 2023
In this free, hybrid Diversity in Graphene Career Event, we will have an interactive panel discussion about science and social media with current Graphene Flagship researchers and social media influencers who focus on science and technology. They will tell us about their lessons learnt, mission and challenges. Finally, is science communications helpful for career progression? The event is open to the participants of Graphene Study 2023 and anyone who wants to join us remotely. Save the date on your calendar: 4 April 2023, 14:30-15:30 pm (CEST).
JEC World 2023
Come visit the Graphene Flagship at booth M75 in Hall 5 of the JEC World Composites Show to be held 25-27 April 2023 at Paris Nord Villepinte. Featuring ground-breaking solutions, unique manufacturing and business opportunities, JEC World is a networking hub of creativity, vision and action. It shows how composite materials push the limits of your projects and ambitions.
