The sixth edition of the GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series explores recent advances in flexible micro-supercapacitors and self-healing battery technologies: two key areas shaping the future of energy storage. As demand grows for intelligent devices, wearable electronics, medical sensors, electric mobility, and sustainable energy systems, researchers are developing innovative solutions that deliver higher performance, greater durability, and improved safety. This webinar features leading experts from the GRAPHERGIA and PHOENIX projects to discuss cutting-edge developments that could transform next-generation energy storage technologies.
17 June 13:00-15:00 (CEST)
This webinar features leading European projects working on advanced 2D materials (2DM) and their application in the next-generation devices. The event will focus on how materials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) can be engineered to support new applications in electronics, sensing, and device manufacturing. Speakers from NanoIC, FAMES, APECS, and the 2D-PL will present current challenges and recent progress in the integration of TMDs and graphene, covering processes such as growth, characterisation, pulsed laser annealing, and transfer, while preserving their properties for device fabrication. The session will end with a Q&A and panel discussion on future opportunities and challenges in the field of 2D materials.
17 June 10:00 - 12:00 CEST
SAFARI, in collaboration with MUNASET is organising an online workshop focused on advancing the safe, sustainable, and scalable integration of MXenes and other 2D materials into industrial applications.
Join us on Wednesday 20 May at 14:30 (CEST) for an online informative session to learn more about our programme, activities and to ask questions to the organisers.
This digital workshop, organised by Chalmers Industriteknik, explores the current state of graphene commercialization and the key challenges that must be addressed to scale graphene-based materials to market. Experts from industry, investment, and end-user companies share perspectives on production scale-up, investment readiness, industrial validation, and commercialization pathways.
The program begins with a general overview of where graphene stands today, followed by an outline of the main hurdles to commercialization, including cost, dispersion, regulation, processing, sustainability, and demand creation. These challenges are illustrated through real-world examples from material producers, investors, and industrial users. The workshop concludes with a panel discussion focused on what is missing today and what is needed to move graphene to the next stage of market adoption.
Join the 5th Scientific Session of the GRAPHERGIA Hub Webinar Series, where cutting-edge research meets real-world innovation in graphene and nanomaterials.
The session will explore how advanced laser-based methods are transforming the integration of graphene and functional nanomaterials into flexible substrates and next-generation electronic devices, targeting smart textile applications.
Professor Seoung-Ki Lee (Pusan National University, South Korea), will join to present an innovative laser-induced photothermal approach for the selective synthesis and functionalisation of nanomaterials. His work demonstrates how precise control of laser irradiation can activate localised regions within a substrate, enabling targeted material growth and integration.
The webinar will also feature updates on GRAPHERGIA’s progress in developing a novel laser Roll-to-Roll pilot line, followed by a Q&A discussion with participants.
