Past Events
Organised as a virtual event, this workshop aims to foster the exchange of experiences, practices and ideas related to the current and emerging topics associated with the basic chemistry approach, materials synthesis, application development and commercialization of graphene and related 2D materials.
Graphene Week is Europe's Leading Graphene Conference, bringing together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology and research on graphene from more than 200 experts related to industry and academia. The 2021 edition, held digitally featured 50 oral and 120 poster presentations with over 25 hours of live interactions and 3 weeks of on demand content.
Twisted bilayers of 2D materials, such as twisted bilayer graphene or heterostructures of transition metal dichalcogenides, have fascinating twist-angle-tunable properties, including flat electronic bands, moiré excitons or superconductivity. The Moiré-Twistronics workshop brings together experimentalists and theorists who work on this quickly growing field and aims to identify open challenges and new directions. The registration and abstract submission for the participation with posters is open and will be free for all Graphene Flagship partners.
One of the biggest challenges the 2D materials faces to be adopted by this industry is the growth of material with a similar stability, reliability and defect density. In this workshop we addressed and discussed these growth challenges.
In this webinar, Luigi Colombo, retired TI Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the university of Texas at Dallas, will review a few examples of technology development, IP generation and technology transfer options in the semiconductor industry. He will also discuss the role of members of the ecosystem and the effect on technology development and transfer.
In this webinar, Piers Andrew, one of Emberion’s founders, describes the company’s genesis as a spin-out from a multinational and its subsequent evolution into an independent entity. He will relate the journey taken from the initial “hero” devices made in the laboratory – through twists and turns – to the development of a saleable product.
Hosted by the Center for 2D and Layered Materials and the 2D Crystal Consortium at Penn State University, and the Graphene Flagship and the University of Manchester National Graphene Institute, this virtual workshop aims to enhance synergy within the community and build toward a strong future in 2D crystal science and technology, bringing together the 8th Annual “Graphene and Beyond: From Atoms to Applications” Workshop.
The EuroNanoForum online conference to be held May 5th-6th will address the role of nano-enabled technologies and industries in the transformation towards EU prosperity. The event will bring forward the role of R&I, as well as the opportunities offered by EU’s next Framework Programme; Horizon Europe.
In this webinar, CEO Martin Lohe will give an in-depth insight into Sixonia Tech’s core technology, including product development and strategic aspects of its electrochemical process used to obtain graphene compounds. This webinar is organised by the Graphene Flagship Innovation Work Package and is open for all.
In this webinar, you will hear Elmar Bonaccurso, Graphene Flagship Aeronautics Champion, speak about heater mat technology for ice protection applications. Bonaccurso works as a Senior Scientist at Graphene Flagship partner Airbus. The webinar will take place on Monday, 12 April, 15:00-16:00.
In this webinar, you will hear Letizia Bocchi, leader of the Graphene Flagship Spearhead Project Graphil, speak about graphene-enhanced filters for water puritication. Bocchi is also Board Member at GRAPHIL Industrial Leader Medica SpA. The webinar will take place on Monday, 12 April, 15:00-16:00.
The perfect opportunity to hear about different career pathways and discuss equality at work. This event is part of the Diversity in Graphene initiative.
As part of the Diversity in Graphene initiative, we organised a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, a free event where participants learned from an experienced Wikipedia editor and edited Wikipedia entries together.
This event marked the public launch of the 2D-Experimental Pilot Line (2D-EPL), gaving the participants insights on this new Graphene Flagship project and how it can spearhead the introduction of graphene and related materials in semiconductors.
Graphene from the Buyer's Perspective – The Power of Standardisation, which was held virtually on Tuesday, 19 January 2021, was the first in a series of events highlighting "The Power of Standardization," hosted by the Graphene Flagship. Together, we are aiming at connecting the global efforts towards graphene standardisation.
